Our Mission and Vision

Our Guiding Principles

A Glimpse Into Our Parish

Rooted in Faith, Serving a Challenged Community

St. Michael Charanga Parish was founded in 2011, carved from St. Mary Immaculate Limbine Parish to serve the growing pastoral needs of our community. We are located in Tigania West, an Arid and Semi-Arid Land (ASAL) in Meru County, Kenya. Our region is characterized by very adverse weather, including strong winds and hot, dry conditions, which present daily challenges to our parishioners. In this expansive area of over 223 square kilometers, we serve a Catholic population of around 6,000 people across twelve outstations.

Our Work at a Glance

A summary of our commitment to faith, community development, education, and partnership.

Our Faith in Action

Our spiritual life is the heart of our community. We celebrate daily Mass, bring the Sacraments to the faithful, and engage in direct evangelization by visiting Small Christian Communities in the villages throughout the week.

Transforming Our Community

We are committed to integral human development by tackling our community's most critical needs. Our projects focus on providing sustainable access to clean water, building safe classrooms for our children, and ensuring secure infrastructure for our clergy.

Education & Empowerment

We champion education as a path to a brighter future, sponsoring local schools and creating programs to protect and empower marginalized girls and women in our community.

Partner With Us

Most of our community members are pastoralists who live below the poverty line, making it difficult to fund these vital projects alone. Your partnership and support can help us achieve our vision and create lasting change.
